When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and organization name. When you use the Meterd API, we process the usage events you send — including event types, customer identifiers, timestamps, and properties you define. We also collect standard server logs (IP addresses, user agents, request timestamps).
We use your information to provide and maintain the Meterd service, process and aggregate usage events as instructed by your meter configurations, send transactional emails (account verification, team invitations, billing receipts), enforce rate limits and quotas per your plan, and improve the reliability and performance of our infrastructure.
Meterd acts as a data processor on your behalf. The usage events you send through our API are your data. We process them strictly according to your meter configurations. All data is stored in PostgreSQL databases with encryption at rest. Data retention follows your plan limits (30 days for Free, 90 days for Pro, 365 days for Business). You can request data deletion at any time.
We do not sell your data. We share data only with: Stripe (for payment processing, governed by their privacy policy), infrastructure providers (for hosting and database services), and when required by law or to protect our legal rights.
API keys are hashed with SHA-256 before storage. Webhook secrets are encrypted. All API traffic is served over TLS. We enforce tenant-level data isolation — one tenant cannot access another tenant's data at the database level. We implement rate limiting, circuit breakers, and audit logging.
You can access, export, or delete your account and all associated data at any time through the dashboard settings or by contacting support. Upon account deletion, all tenant data including events, aggregates, API keys, and webhook configurations are permanently removed.
We use essential cookies only — session tokens for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.
